The event will feature guest speakers, and it will give attendees an opportunity to expand their understanding of the culture, economics and politics in Iran. Students will have the opportunity to network with representatives from great companies during the event.

Expected dress code is Business Professional. This event is free, but seats are limited so reserve your seat today! The 2017 Black Tie Dinner will be held in the Giustina Ballroom which is located on the 1st floor of the Ford Alumni Center. Check-in will begin at 5:30pm. Please check-in at the registration table when you arrive.
Arash Dayani
Dayani is a Ph.D. student in the Finance Department of the University of Oregon. He attended Amirkabir University of Technology – Tehran Polytechnic for his Masters and currently teaches at the University of Oregon. Arash has extensive experience in Iranian financial markets and the practice of public companies and corporate investment in vehicles. Today, he plans to give us insight about the business environment of Iran and their financial markets.
Farhad Bahram
Bahram is a University of Oregon graduate student currently pursing his Masters in Fine Art and Photography. Originally from Iran, he moved to San Francisco in 2011 and attended the San Francisco Art Insitiute. Later on he applied to the University of Oregon to continue his interests in art and social sciences. Today, he plans to share some of his art in relation to his roots in Iran and experiences as an immigrant in the United States.
Farhad Malekafzali
Dr. Malekafzali received his Ph.D. in Political Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in congressional-presidential relationship in foreign policy. He has taught at University of Southern California, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and currently the University of Oregon. Today, he plans to speak about how the west applies macro economics policies in Iran.
